Welcome to the Foley Hoag Newsroom. Hot topics, industry insight, legal trends. You'll find it here, and we hope you'll visit often. Whether you are a reporter on deadline or an interested individual seeking more information on a hot topic, you'll find commentary on new regulations, recently decided court cases, business trends and other topics that are of critical importance, in print and electronic formats. Concentrating on a cluster of high-growth and rapidly changing industries, lawyers at Foley Hoag understand the importance of being immersed in our clients' businesses. In practical terms that means partnering with trade organizations, monitoring developments from federal, state and local government; taking a leadership role with business and civic organizations; and participating in a wide range of writing, speaking and media relations activities. That adds up to a solid roster of sources and commentary ready to contribute to the dialogue, wherever it may go.

BIO 2009 Video

We've chosen to launch our Newsroom in conjunction with BIO 2009. Foley Hoag has a longstanding relationship with the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and for the past three years has participated in its annual International Convention, one of the largest biotech gatherings in the world, via speaking panels, as an exhibitor, and as event hosts. The BIO International Convention is a forum for global thought leaders to discuss the intersection of policy, business, and law. There is no shortage of issues this year: new stem cell research guidelines, a new presidential administration, health care reform and follow-on biologics – those are just a few of the issues that will be tackled at BIO and well after. You'll find a few of our lawyers featured here weighing in on these issues, and suggesting a few others you may not have heard of yet.

Life Sciences, Business Crimes, Clean Tech...

Moving beyond BIO, we'll sustain the life sciences dialogue and then expand our coverage to include areas such as business crimes and government investigations, renewable energy, and the environment.
